On the weekend of September 21, the troop headed down to Red River Gorge for an aggressive 5-6 mile hike and overnight campout. We started off in full rain gear and packs, and although the rain was light, it kept coming down for the next 2-3 hours.
We finally found our campsite for the night dubbed the "RRG Holiday Inn", but not before we found a pack of angry bees that stung several of the troop, sometimes many times!
The Holiday Inn was great though - running water, stone (recliner) chairs around the fire, and all the nature we could take!
The next morning we hiked back out. It was a great trip, planned and executed by a scout!
